Movie star Charlie Hunnam has sent an uplifting message to Tighes Hill Public School.
Hunnam, a British actor, is known for starring in Sons of Anarchy and The Gentlemen.
"Hello. This is Charlie Hunnam. I am making this video on behalf of my friend Sonny, who wanted me to make a little video to say thank you to Mrs Armstrong and all of the wonderful teachers at Tighes Hill school".
Hunnam added that the teachers provide "incredible classwork every day and a very fun and lovely environment".
He was grateful for "all the work you do to provide him and his classmates with a fun and great education".
Hunnam was recently with Sonny's father, director Bharat Nalluri, in Thailand. Hunnam was reportedly starring in Shantaram, with Nalluri directing six episodes of the 10-episode series for Apple TV+. The series was being shot in Victoria and India. Production was moved from India to Thailand due to the pandemic.
Shantaram was a bestselling book, published in 2003 by Melbourne-born author Gregory David Roberts.
Hunnam closed off by saying "thank you very much to Mrs Armstrong and all the wonderful teachers at Tighes Hill school".
"Sending you lots of love," he said, before blowing them a kiss.
The school posted on Facebook: "During these difficult times it's nice to get some positive feedback. And this just takes the cake! Thank you to the gorgeous Nalluri family for making this happen. You certainly made Ms Armstrong's day ... week, year, life! And thank you Charlie Hunnam. What a superstar for doing this!"
Tighes Hill school principal Tony Selwood said staff were delighted to receive the video message, given the "stressful and challenging circumstances we're operating in".
"To have someone of Charlie's calibre take the time to reach out to staff is lovely," Mr Selwood said.
As for Bharat Nalluri, he is a British-Indian film and television director. His works include Spooks, Tsunami: The Aftermath, Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day and The Man Who Invented Christmas.
He was born in India, but moved to England with his family and grew up in Newcastle upon Tyne.
He is reportedly married to Australian journalist Kylie Morris, who was Washington correspondent for Britain's Channel 4 News from 2014 to 2019. She now lives in Newcastle. Our Newcastle, that is, not England's Newcastle.
