There's a whole host of dogs searching for new homes in Merseyside - including 'movie star' Chase who just wants a family to take him in.
All dogs deserve a loving, happy home with owners who spoil them - but sadly this isn't always the way, with many dogs ending up in kennels through no fault of their own.
From Border Collies to Lurchers, Dogs Trust Merseyside has a number of dog all seeking a second chance at life and TeamDogs has collated a list of their newest dogs available for adoption:

Ash

Eight-year-old Ash lives for fuss and attention and will happily say hello to anyone that crosses his path.
The border collie enjoys playing ball and never misses the chance to encourage you to interact with him. Ash is very overweight, so playtimes can be the perfect opportunity to help him exercise gently and get back to a healthy size.
Fortunately, Ash is house trained and can live with children aged 10 and over.
He came to the rescue centre with his sister Lola, so the pair can be rehomed together. However, they can be quite the handful together as two strong and reactive dogs.
Chase

This two-year-old Collie Cross with the 'movie star' looks is known as Chase.
The handsome pup can be a little worried when meeting new people but after a few minutes of walking alongside him, he usually plucks up the courage to come over for a pet.
Chase is described as "a smart lad who knows quite a few commands and will definitely benefit from living with a family who wants to work his brain even further."
Ideally, the team are looking to rehome Chase with an adult only home as the only dog. He guards soft furnishings such as bedding and cushions and this will need to be very carefully managed in his new home.
In typical Collie fashion, he likes to control movements therefore breed appropriate activities would be the perfect outlet for his need to herd.
Max

Max is a young working dog looking for a Collie experienced home where he can put his smart brain to work.
Born on a farm, the eight-month-old isn't suited to urban life and has an inbuilt need to be outside working.
Now, beginning to find his feet, he loves some one on one time with his carers and toys.
Max is nervous around new people, but after a while he becomes very content. His ideal home would be on a farm, far away from any noisy traffic and bicycles that he likes to chase, with a family that will challenge him physically and mentally.
He knows some basic commands already but will certainly benefit from further training.
Max's new home must be free of children as he has had some negative interactions in the past, and he will need to be the only dog.
Pablo

Pablo's age is not known and it is believed he is between one or two-years-old, but one thing that is certain is that he is an excitable dog.
The lurcher gets startled easily and therefore should be introduced to new people and situations slowly, but having said that the team at Merseyside Dog Trust have seen his confidence grow in such a short space of time.
Pablo loves to run after toys, but never picks them up, much preferring the thrill of the chase.
Pablo lacks confidence around other dogs and can be conflicted about what he wants to do with them. Sometimes he will bark, sometimes he'll walk happily alongside them but it is best for the time being for him to be the only dog in the home.
Due to his nervous nature, Pablo would be better suited to living with older children who understand the need to go at his pace.
He is house trained but doesn't like to be alone, so will need someone around for the majority of the day.
Shiann

'Dinky' Shiann found herself in the centre after her owner felt he could no longer give her the time she needed.
The eight-year-old is described as "a sweet and easy going lass who enjoys her walks but mostly just enjoys being with people."
Shiann will walk alongside other quiet dogs but she doesn't really choose to interact, she just "tolerates them being there."
She would prefer to be the only dog in a home where she can have a quiet life with a few favourite humans.
The beautiful pooch only has short little legs and her back ones appear a little weak and will need lifting in and out of car's if she's going anywhere. She can also live with children of high school age.
Thor

Three-year-old 'goofy' Thor is said to have no concept of his own size and strength.
The canine is wonderfully playful but can be quite clumsy and doesn't really focus on what he's grabbing, so you might find yourself with sore fingers now and again.
Unfortunately, Thor is not always great with unfamiliar people and he will lunge at them on occasion.
Any potential adopters will need to be committed to meeting him quite a few times whilst he's at the centre, and will need to be mindful of this behaviour once he's home.
He is currently being trained to accept a muzzle by the staff, and you'll need to be comfortable with carrying this on at home.
Thor is wonderful once he's comfortable with you but he's going to need a home with no children and where there are few, if any, visitors.
He will walk with other dogs but will behave very differently with the same dog on different days meaning he will need to be the only dog in the home.
His previous owner reported that Thor is house trained and can be left alone for a few hours.
If you feel that you could be the right match for any of these dogs, Dogs Trust Merseyside would love to hear from you.
