Movie Extra Allegedly Assaulted By Mia Goth Demands She Show Up For A Deposition

A movie extra who worked on MaXXXine has filed documents demanding that star Mia Goth show up for her deposition, some two years after he first alleged she intentionally kicked him on the set of the horror film

ICYMI, the legal drama kicked off back in 2024, when James Hunter filed a lawsuit claiming he was assaulted by Goth while playing the role of ‘dead parishioner’ in MaXXXine

Hunter said he was deposed as part of the case later that year, but now claims neither Goth nor the film’s director Ti West have properly appeared for their own depositions in the time since the suit was filed.

The new legal move demands that Goth provide the dates that she’s available to be deposed, while also alleging that her lawyer “abruptly” walked out of a “contentious” deposition held earlier on in the case, per Us Weekly.

Hunter claimed Goth and the other defendants, including movie studio A24, have not been proactive in scheduling follow-up legal appointments, and said he won’t sit for a second deposition until they schedule theirs.

“The defendants’ inaction and Ms. Goth’s continued unavailability for deposition creates an uneven playing field that the Court can correct by ordering her deposition to proceed first,” Hunter’s filing said.

The first deposition caused Hunter “severe anxiety” as well as headaches and panic attacks, the filing claimed.

It all stems from an alleged incident while working on MaXXXine, the third instalment of A24’s X franchise.

Hunter claimed he raised concerns about how “perilously” close Goth was running next to his face when he shot multiple takes while lying on the floor for a scene.

It’s alleged that Hunter expressed fears of an injury to his head to the assistant director, who then informed Goth. Despite the warning, Goth allegedly went into the next take with the willful intention of “assaulting [Hunter] by kicking him on the side of his head with her boot”.

The suit claims Goth did so as “punishment” for Hunter raising his concerns during earlier takes. Hunter claimed the retaliation extended beyond that specific scene, with Goth allegedly invading his privacy in a bathroom on set to “laugh at, taunt, mock and belittle” him.

Hunter demanded damages of over $500,000 ($745,000 AUD) for alleged battery, while Goth and the other defendants have denied the allegations and called for them to be dismissed.

Through her lawyers, Goth denied Hunter was injured on set and claimed that if he was, it was the result of actions he did and consented to, per Us Weekly. The actress is demanding that Hunter foot the legal bills she paid for the case.

Goth starred in all three of the X movies, with other castmates including Jenna Ortega, Lily Collins and Kevin Bacon.
