Anyone who’s ever shared an apartment knows that roommates can be…a challenge. However, most disagreements stop at a passive-aggressive text—or, at worst, a yelling match.
From roommates stealing fancy beans to others breaking gifts and eating luxury chocolates they didn’t pay for, TikTok is full of stories that toe the line between annoying and unbelievable.
But even then, they rarely involve the police.
One video posted by Bryana (@bryanapaige), however, shows exactly what happened when her roommate went past that line—over a morning shower.
Roommate had the police called on her for showering
In a video shared on TikTok, Bryana filmed a quiet but tense exchange with a police officer who showed up after her roommate reportedly called the cops.
The reason? She was in the bathroom getting ready for work at 5:45am.
We only hear the officer’s voice in the clip.
“I’m just in the bathroom, taking a shower, getting ready for work,” Bryana explains. “And she calls the police ‘cause I’m in the bathroom.”
The officer responds, “Unfortunately, I see this a lot. Two people that don’t get along that are living with each other… you guys start to go at each other’s throats, and then eventually somebody starts—”
Bryana cuts in, “Yeah. I don’t bother her, though.”
The conversation remains calm, but the officer’s tone seems concerned.
“You see where it could be an issue, where it can escalate,” he tells her. “You know what I mean?”
What led to this?
In the caption, Bryana explains what led up to the call. She was getting ready for work and needed to leave by 6:15. Her roommate, she says, usually wakes up around 6:30.
“She started banging on the door already at 5:45,” she continues. “I said I’m almost done… so she goes ‘whatever i’m calling the cops’ and really called them on me for taking a shower.”
The TikToker shares more details
In two follow-up videos, Bryana shared more context about how her relationship with the roommate went downhill.
In Part 1, she explained that she and her 2-year-old daughter had been living there since May 1, and at first, things were fine. They were even friends.
But it didn’t stay that way for long. According to Bryana, the roommate quickly started acting possessive—getting upset whenever she made plans with friends and making passive comments about how she spent money on her daughter.
At one point, the roommate allegedly told her, “In this house, we only buy toys for Christmas and birthdays.”
Bryana also said this wasn’t the first time the roommate called the police. The first instance happened after Bryana overheard her talking badly about her and her daughter on the phone. When she confronted her, the roommate called 911—apparently “for hurting her feelings.”
In the second part, Bryana revealed even more disturbing details. She said her roommate once threatened her through text using emojis. She also pointed out a major safety concern: their bedrooms share a door that opens from both sides, and there’s no lock. For now, she’s pushed her bed against it to prevent it from being opened.
“Hopefully she leaves me alone,” she said at the end of the video. “Hopefully she moves out soon, but I will keep you guys updated.”
Viewers think the cop was trying to warn her
In the comments section, users expressed concern for Bryana and her daughter’s safety, with many believing the officer was trying to warn Bryana that she’s in danger without saying too much.
“The cop is telling you to leave,” wrote one person. “He can only say so much but he’s warning you.”
“Girl. you need to work on your active listening skills,” stated another. “Stop listening to respond, and ACTIVELY listen to understand what he’s telling you. you need to move out.”
“Your roommate is actively using the cops to harass and intimidate you,” chimed in a third. “Can you imagine how much trauma she’s causing your child? girl, it’s best to leave that place. And let her deal with all those bills on her own, and you can find a much better place.”
Another reiterates, “Babyyy he’s telling you it’s gonna escalate so get out! He’s literally warning you.”
“And this is why I’ll never have a roomate,” summed up a fifth.
