Moussa Sissoko signs new Tottenham contract until 2023

Tottenham midfielder Moussa Sissoko has signed a new contract, keeping him at the club until 2023.

Sissoko penned a five-year deal when he joined from Newcastle in 2016 and has since made 132 appearances for Spurs.

The France international nailed down a regular role in the Tottenham team last term, starting 39 matches domestically and in Europe, including the Champions League Final in Madrid in June.

After signing his new deal, Sissoko told Tottenham's official website: "I'm very proud.

"At the beginning it was tough, but I never gave up and today everything has changed."

The 30-year-old became Tottenham's record signing when moved left St. James' Park in a £30million deal on deadline day in August 2016.

Sissoko had been linked with a move to Fenerbahce over the summer but has now committed to the club beyond the length of his initial deal, which was set to expire in 2021.
