Moussa Sissoko explains Tottenham 'impact' role as he predicts beating Ajax to reach Champions League Final

Moussa Sissoko is disappointed his tide-turning substitution did not reap rewards for Tottenham but predicts beating Ajax to reach the Champions League final.

The hosts were overrun in the first half on Tuesday night and was no surprise when Donny van de Beek tucked home after just 15 minutes. Ajax could - and, perhaps, should - have extended their lead.

Jan Vertonghen's injury led to Sissoko's introduction earlier than expected, having been deemed not fit enough to start, which saw Spurs take more control in midfield before a much-improved second-half display.

"I'm very disappointed about the result, like every one," he told beIN Sport. "We knew the first game was very important, especially trying to not concede a goal but we couldn't keep a clean sheet.

"But we know we have the second game and we have to make sure we go to the final."

He added: "I tried to bring a lot of impact in the middle as that was missing in the first half. It wasn't enough to come back into the game, but it's not over. I'm sure we can go there and beat them."

Son was suspended for the first leg but will be available for next week's trip to Amsterdam.

Sissoko continued: "We all know the quality of Son, he has a big impact on the team. Hopefully we can help us reach the final, but it won't be an easy game.

"Before that, we have a massive game against Bournemouth. Win that and we have a lot of confidence."
