Moussa Dembele transfer latest as Celtic wait on West Ham bid for Lyon star

West Ham are set to make a move for former Celtic striker Moussa Dembele, according to a report.

The Hammers are reportedly about to make a bid for him after selling Sebastian Haller to Ajax for a fee of £25million.

Dembele has been linked with big money moves from Lyon over the last 18 months and Celtic are due a huge cut of any sale.

They sold the Frenchman to the Ligue 1 giants in summer 2018 for a fee of £20million with 10 per cent sell-on clause also to head to Celtic Park if he's sold.

Lyon value Dembele at £30m but the Hammers aren't keen on paying the full asking price, according to RMC.

The French outlet report that West Ham will make a bid for Dembele, though, and David Moyes will look to make him the focal point of their team.

Manchester United have also been heavily linked with Dembele and West Ham entering the race could spark a bidding war if Ole Gunnar Solskjaer decides to make a move for the French frontman.

French football is in a bit of a financial mess with TV deals collapsing and Lyon may be willing to accept a lower offer.

Neil Lennon's men are looking to strengthen in January and their funds could be boosted by any sell-on received from Dembele's sale.
