Moussa Dembele transfer frustration as Lyon's megabucks auction plan for ex-Celtic hero collapses

Lyon feel time is running out for them to sell Moussa Dembele and get an adequate replacement this summer, according to a report.

The former Celtic star was heavily linked with moves to the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal but neither club have made a move for him so far in this window.

With four weeks left, Lyon are yet to receive the bid they want for three of their most saleable assets.

And that’s a blow for their plans this summer with Director of Football Juninho, and head of recruitment Bruno Cheyrou worried that they won’t have time to get adequate replacements.

And Get French Football News report that Lyon have only had two bids for Dembele, and neither are clubs Lyon had expected.

Bundesliga side RB Leipzig are one with an English Premier League club ‘who don’t typically qualify for the Champions League’ as the other.

And they also say that Lyon are waiting for clubs such as Manchester City, Juventus and Barcelona to make move for the three players they feel they need to sell for big money.

One of those is Dembele with the others being midfielder Houssem Aouar and forward Memphis Depay.

Arsenal have made a move for Aouar with a £35m plus Matteo Guendouzi bid rejected by the Ligue 1 side.
