Moussa Dembele transfer decision as Manchester United prepare £300m squad overhaul

Manchester United are reportedly prepared to wait for Moussa Dembele as they stockpile a £300million transfer kitty.

The Old Trafford giants have been heavily linked with the Lyon striker as well as Leicester City’s James Maddison.

But although they would love to sign them in January they will hold off if the prices for the pair aren’t right.

According to Mail Online, under-fire Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been handed a massive budget for new players as he struggles in the job.

Manchester United lie a lowly 14th in the English Premier League standings ahead of a titanic clash with Liverpool on Sunday afternoon.

They have won just twice in the league and lack serious firepower.

But United are hell-bent on beefing up their attack with former Celtic goal machine Dembele, Foxes attacker Maddison and are also keen on Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez.

Dembele was unhappy at Lyon after Memphis Depay was made Lyon’s No.9. But the French star returned to the frontline during the draw with Dijon on Saturday following Juninho’s sacking.

He had been linked with a £50million move to Manchester in the summer but Lyon are understood to value him at a far higher price.

Celtic will receive 10 per cent of any transfer fee after having a sell-on clause inserted into his contract.
