Moussa Dembele to Manchester United? Celtic remain in line for windfall as 'contact made'

Manchester United have stepped up their interest in Moussa Dembele - according a report.

It was revealed in April that the Red Devils had been watching the former Celtic star closely following an impressive debut season at Lyon.

Dembele has bagged 18 goals for the Ligue 1 giants since his move from Parkhead in August 2018.

The Frenchman bagged the Scottish champions a club-record £19.8million fee and he could yet line the Parkhead coffers further.

It's understood Celtic inserted a sell-on clause into his Lyon deal, much like they did with Virgil Van Dijk.

And now, according to L'Equipe , United have stepped up their interest in the 22-year-old by making contact with the French club.

Romelu Lukaku has openly admitted he doesn't know if he'll be at Old Trafford next season and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will already be thinking about potential replacements, should the Belgian leave.

But they aren't the only English Premier League club with their eye on Dembele.

Arsenal are also believed to be monitoring the former Fulham star, even making enquiries before he moved back to France last year.

Rumours claim Atletico Madrid are also in the mix and, in Celtic's case, that can only be a good thing.

A host of clubs chasing the striker could encourage a bidding war that will drive his price up even further.
