Moussa Dembele swoons over Celtic anniversary as 'greatest' Rangers demolition leaves striker feeling nostalgic

Nostalgic Moussa Dembele has marked the anniversary of his stunning hat-trick against Rangers in 2016.

The former Parkhead favourite ranked the 5-1 victory that kicked off the club's historic Invincible Treble season among the "greatest moments" of his career.

Dembele announced his Parkhead arrival with a virtuoso display in what was a first Premiership derby meeting in over four years.

Brendan Rodgers ' side proved too strong for Mark Warburton's newly-promoted team, with the Frenchman at the heart of a devastating attacking display.

He opened the scoring with a powerful finish before turning Phillipe Senderos inside out for a classy second.

And he completed a perfect treble after the interval with a sharp touch and left-footed finish..

Now at Lyon, the 23-year-old retains fond memories of the encounter.

He wrote on Twitter: "Happy @dembelition day @CelticFC! One of the greatest moment of my career! #HappyDembelitionDay #HatTrick"

Those were three of his 51 goals in 96 appearances for Celtic across two seasons.

He eventually departed for a then club record £19.8million fee in August 2018.
