Moussa Dembele sticks boot into Rangers as former Celtic star fires stinging Ibrox pitch jibe

Moussa Dembele has stuck the boot into Rangers as he aimed a stinging social media jibe at the Ibrox club.

Record Sport revealed on Tuesday that Rangers had begun on relaying their turf with no football expected in Scotland any time soon.

And that prompted the former Celtic striker to have a go his old club's rivals.

Replying to our story, Dembele wrote: "The only thing they will lift this season is their own pitch..."

Rangers trail Celtic by 13 points at the Premiership summit and were eliminated from the Scottish Cup before the season was suspended in March.

They also lost out to their Parkhhead foes in the Betfred Cup Final back in December.

Dembele has never been shy on social media, often looking back fondly on his stint in Glasgow and Tweeting the odd dig at Rangers.

His final days at Celtic also played out online before he sealed a £19.8million move to Lyon.

The Frenchman issued a series of posts seemingly aimed at former boss Brendan Rodgers before the club agreed to sell him to the Ligue 1 outfit in summer 2018.

But, based on this latest social media quip, he's still closely following events in Scotland.
