Moussa Dembele shrugs off goal hoodoo talk as Manchester United transfer target makes admission

In-demand Moussa Dembele insists he will not fold under the weight of expectation as he eyes his first Champions League goal of the season.

The 23-year-old Lyon star is a wanted man with Manchester United expected to firm up their interest in a player the Ligue 1 big-hitters reportedly value at £84m.

And Dembele has a chance to further enhance his burgeoning reputation against Juventus - a side who weighed up a blockbuster move last summer.

But the Frenchman isn't concerned with his record of one goal in 12 UCL appearances for Lyon after netting four times for Celtic in the tournament proper.

Dembele, speaking ahead of his side's last 16 clash with the Italian giants, said: "There are a lot of expectations for my first Champions League goal, but there’s no pressure on me.

"I want to play my game, doing my best for the team.

“I am physically in good shape and try to do my best both before and after training to ensure that I am at the top of my game.”

Lyon chief Jean-Michel Aulas has revealed he expects a host of his top stars to depart this summer and another man who is being watched by a host of clubs is Houssem Aouar.

The 26-year-old playmaker is in fine form and Dembele reckons he is primed to cause Cristiano Ronaldo and co a Champions League headache on Wednesday

He added: “He is motivated, doing well and will play a great game for the team.

"He’s a wonderful player and we are happy to have him with us.”
