Moussa Dembele set to leave Lyon this summer as former Celtic striker to become free agent

Former Celtic star striker Moussa Dembele will leave Lyon this summer when he contract expires, it has been reported.

The 26-year-old has been linked with moves away from the Ligue 1 outfit throughout his near five years in France. Record Sport reported earlier this month the former French under-21 forward was being monitored by La Liga giants Atletico Madrid who he had a loan spell at in 2021. According to Sky Sports in Germany, Dembele will definitely leave Laurent Blanc's side at the end of the current campaign.

Premier League strugglers Everton and Southampton are also reportedly keen on Dembele, however an approach to sign the striker will depend if they are relegated or not. The £20m forward has been linked with a move to a number of clubs during his time in France, including to Manchester United and Barcelona. Celtic are set to miss out on collecting a 15 per cent sell-on from any potential sale of Dembele.

As it stands Dembele is set to become a free agent in the summer and is believed to be earning around €3 million a year at mid-table outfit.
