Moussa Dembele set for Rangers unleashing as under fire Lyon boss sends striker SOS

Former Celtic striker Moussa Dembele is likely to be unleashed on Rangers this week as struggling Peter Bosz turns to the striker following a 2-2 draw with Bordeaux.

However another ex-Parkhead man Jason Denayer will be injured after he was taken off in the Ligue 1 clash.

Bosz saw his side slip to 12th in the top tier and his only saving grace is a storming Europa League campaign.

Lyon have topped Group A with a game to spare and Dembele could get the chance to add to his seven goals against Rangers after missing the Ibrox fixture earlier in the season.

After three consecutive sub appearances following a shin injury he could lead the line on Thursday against Giovanni van Bronckhorst's men.

Bosz said: "Moussa Dembele was not ready to start in Bordeaux. He hasn't had a lot of training with the group and he needs time to find his rhythm.

"He made a good impression when he came on and gave the team energy. Perhaps he is ready to start the next game now.

"We need to wait for Jason Denayer to get scanned, but it didn't look good. It's an ankle injury and it looked like it could be quite a serious injury.

"I am very disappointed not to have beaten Bordeaux. In fact, we almost lost the game in the end. But it was nothing to do with tactics, it was individual mistakes.

"We played badly in sections of the match and switched off for their goals. This is not the first time it's happened either. We've had a lot of games and it is two games a week at the moment, so I will make changes for Rangers."
