Manchester United are stepping up their pursuit of a striker in the January transfer window - and target Moussa Dembele is said to be keen on an Old Trafford switch.
The former Celtic striker has been a star performer at Lyon leading to United placing him on their shortlist to bolster their attack at the next opportunity.
According to ESPN , former Fulham striker Dembele would be keen on a return to England, especially to play for a top club such as United as he looks for the move to come to fruition.
He could be part of a big-money raid on the French top flight, with Lille midfielder Boubakary Soumare also on the radar as the heir to Paul Pogba.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will reportedly be offered a big fund to upgrade his squad this summer as he continues his rebuild after the positive signings of Harry Maguire, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Daniel James this summer.
Dembele has been in fine form since joining Lyon from Celtic, scoring 22 goals in 43 league matches including seven in 10 this term.
The French club spent just under £20million on Dembele last summer and have declared he is not for sale, although United are hopeful they could be tempted to sell for a handy profit as they look to make their move.
The return of Anthony Martial has boosted a United side who have been short of goals, but Solskjaer is still keen for more options.
Mario Mandzukic could opt for a big-money move to Qatar rather than joining the Red Devils, whilst Bayern Munich chiefs have played down the chances of Thomas Muller leaving before the end of the season.
