Moussa Dembele hails Chris Sutton as Celtic icon sends ruthless message to his snipers

Delighted Moussa Dembele has saluted Chris Sutton for his social media shout out in the wake of the Celtic icon's killer display against Manchester City.

The former Hoops star bagged a double from the bench to secure a 3-1 win for Lyon and a place in the semi-finals of the Champions League.

Record Sport pundit Sutton has continually backed Scottish football over the years and made sure to let those south of the border know about the man of the moment and his Parkhead origins.

He said: "Delighted for Moussa Dembele.

"Another player developed in Scotland and stupidly shunned by Premier League clubs and he just knocked out moneybags Manchester City... when will clubs south of the border learn."

And Dembele was quick to reply: "Thank you Chris I appreciate it! The semi-final will be another battle but I’m used to it."

The 24-year-old also joked with Sutton that "only God knows" how many he would have scored against City if he had played more than 15 minutes in the Lisbon showpiece.

The Hoops icon's social media spree didn't end after after his pleasantries with Sutton, however, as he responded to Kylian Mbappe's slap down to those who doubt the merits of French football.

The France World Cup winner posted "farmers league" accompanied with a clown emoji as one of the world's best players backed Ligue 1.

Dembele simply added: "Let them talk bro."

The former Fulham man, already valued around £60m, is set to see his price tag soar after his telling contribution against City.

And that's good news for Celtic who have a sell-on fee of around 10 percent for a player who left Glasgow for £19.8m in 2018.
