Moussa Dembele claims readjusting from Celtic held him back at Lyon

Moussa Dembele admits he took a while to readjust to French football after his two years with Celtic - and says he should have done better in his first season back in Ligue 1.

The former Hoops star has netted 15 goals in 20 starts for Lyon following his £20 million move last August and scored his latest goal on Saturday in a 4-0 romp over Caen.

His impressive form has made him a reported target for Manchester United , which could yet land Celtic a chunky sell-on fee.

But former PSG starlet Dembele , 22, has revealed that it took him a while to readjust to French football, following his successful time in Glasgow.

He said: "I've had a good season, but it should have been much better. I always aspire to being the best.

"When I arrived at Lyon, it took me a long time to adapt after being at Celtic for a couple of years.

"I feel I have finally adjusted now, but there's still plenty of things I could improve on.

"I am still young. I still have room for improvement, that's why I say there are still many aspects where I can get better.

"I strive for perfection or as close to it as I can get to it."
