Moussa Dembele Celtic reunion edges closer as Hoops 'reach agreement' for Lyon glamour tournament

Reports on social media suggest that Celtic are set to take part in a friendly tournament in France before the start of next season.

And it could see former Hoops striker Moussa Dembele reunite with his old teammates.

The pre-season tournament organised by Lyon is reportedly seeking a final participant after Stade Rennes snubbed an offer.

But the information, shared by popular Lyon news account @youngjouster on Twitter, claimed that Celtic have accepted their invitation.

The Tweet read: "FYI, Rennes refused to participate in the 'Tournoi de Lyon'.

"OL are still looking for a fourth team after having reached the Nice and Celtic agreements."

A clash against the Ligue 1 side would of course see a Dembele and Celtic reunion.

Parkhead manager Neil Lennon revealed on Wednesday that his side are eyeing up friendly opportunities overseas.

He admitted the fact that Premier League and Championship sides are still to finish their seasons which has left him eyeing up teams in France and the Netherlands as possible opponents as their leagues were ended early like in Scotland.

Lennon said: "The preparations will be so important and we might look at going abroad to get games.

"It might be difficult playing down in England as we’d have to wait until their season is finished before we can even think about arranging games with them.

"But we can look at French and Dutch teams. Their seasons were curtailed and they will be in the same position as ourselves so that’s something we’ll definitely pursue."
