Moussa Dembele staring at Rangers Europa League KO as Lyon ace dealt fresh injury blow

Moussa Dembele looks certain to be missing for Lyon when they face Rangers in the Europa League.

The former Celtic striker took a heavy blow to the leg in Wednesday night’s 3-1 win over Troyes.

Lyon confirmed that x-rays show a fracture to his fibula and say the 25-year-old will face “several weeks” on the sidelines.

Dembele has four goals to his name already this season.

But he missed the Group A opener at Ibrox last week with a muscle injury and only returned in the win over Troyes that lifts Lyon to sixth in the table.

A Lyon statement said: “Moussa Dembélé, who suffered a blow last night to his right fibula during the match against Troyes, has been determined to have a fracture which will cause him to miss several weeks.

“Olympique Lyonnais will make all arrangements to provide Moussa with the best possible medical care in order to facilitate his return to the squad as soon as possible.”
