Mourners asked to wear bright colours to funeral of tragic Lanarkshire schoolgirl

The heartbroken mother of a Cumbernauld schoolgirl who died from an asthma attack has asked mourners to wear bright colours to her funeral.

Tracy Bulpitt said she had lost her “precious angel” in 12-year-old Katy.

And she has now requested mourners wear pink or purple in tribute to her at St Joseph’s Church on Wednesday. The mum-of-six also revealed that her father, Robert Speirs, had died on Tuesday aged 71.

The funeral Mass will take place at 10am in St Joseph’s, followed by burial at Eastfield Cemetery.

There will be a gathering at the Burroughs social club and Tracy advised: “Anyone wishing to attend is welcome and we request attendees wear something pink or purple.”
