Firefighters are tackling a blaze on the Mourne Mountains in Co Down .
Witnesses said that it is around the bottom of the mountain and spreading into the fields below.
One witness is staying at nearby Bonny's Caravan Park on the Tullybrannigan Road in Newcastle.
She told Belfast Live: "We are in the caravan site it's packed with families down for Easter.
"There are several fire engines and off road vehicles, it seems to be spreading rapidly.
"There are lots of sirens out the back roads too."
A PSNI spokesman said: "Emergency services are currently at the scene of a large fire at Tollymore Forest in Newcastle. Police are asking members of the public to avoid the Tullybrannigan Road and Bonny’s Caravan Park. Anyone already at the caravan park should leave immediately."
A spokesperson for the fire service said on Sunday night: "Following receipt of a large number of calls, Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service are dealing with a large Wildfire in Newcastle in the Tullybrannigan Road area of Donard Forest.
"A total of 8 pumping appliances and 2 specialist appliances with 55 firefighters and specialist Wildfire Officers have been engaged in firefighting operations.
"Crews are currently dealing with a wildfire with a mile long fire front. Their main priority at this time is protecting the properties in the vicinity of the fire. Operations will continue through the night and into Easter Monday."
