Moura and Sissoko in, Lo Celso out - The team Spurs fans would like to see vs Southampton

The first game of the new year of Tottenham Hotspur sees them travel to the Saint Mary's to take on Southampton.

Spurs go into the game having taken a point from their visit to Carrow Road on Saturday, after coming back twice to draw 2-2 with newly promoted Norwich City.

A free kick from Christian Eriksen and a Harry Kane penalty cancelled out a strike from Mario Vrancic and a Serge Aurier own goal.

The result leaves Tottenham in sixth place in the Premier League table, five points adrift of fourth placed Chelsea. Spurs will be looking to close that gap against the Saints.

What to expect from Tottenham in the January transfer window

Ahead of the match, Tottenham fans have been having their say on who they think should be named in Jose Mourinho's starting 11 for the match.

In the back four, supporters would like to see a change in the right-back position, with Juan Foyth moving into a right-back role, replacing Serge Aurier after his calamitous own goal vs the Canaries.

Foyth's position in the center of defence will be taken by Davinson Sanchez, who replaced him at half-time of the Norwich draw.

Fans have also chosen Danny Rose as left-back, it is however unlikely that the England international will be fit for the match, meaning either Jan Vertonghen or Ryan Sessegnon could take the position.

In midfield, supporters would like to see both Giovani Lo Celso and Christian Eriksen dropped to the bench in order to accommodate Moussa Sissoko on his return from suspension and Lucas Moura.

It is no surprise that the fans have chosen Harry Kane as the lone striker.

Spurs fans' starting XI: Gazzaniga; Foyth, Alderweireld, Sanchez, Rose; Moura, Alli, Ndombele, Sissoko, Sessegnon; Kane
