I was amazed when I heard that another Ibbotson was an author because one of my favourite authors is Eva Ibbotson and Toby Ibbotson is her son! So I couldn't wait to start reading this book!
Mountwood is a top secret school for ghosts but the teachers aren't too scary. When two human children, Daniela and Charlotte come asking for help, it takes a lot to persuade the Great Hagges – the teachers at school – to be part of the rescue plan. The story centres on some fantastic characters from: Daniel and Charlotte to Jack Bluffit, a ghost called Percy and the three Great Hagges and the point of view flicks between them all. This keeps the story moving.
It takes a while to know each character but then you see just how they fit in. I wanted to read this book all in one go, it is so exciting but I kept having to go to school myself in-between chapters. For anyone who loves Eva Ibbotson, this book is brilliant news because maybe Toby Ibbotson will write more just like this. I really, massively hope so!
