A man claims he has spent the last 10 months begging the council to clean an alleyway near his home where rubbish has built up.
Dario Greggio says he has sent numerous emails to Sefton Council over the last 10 months asking them to clean litter and rubbish from the alleyway next to his house.
The lamps that light the alleyway have also been out of use since he moved in just under a year ago.
The 53-year-old, of Kirkstone Road North, Litherland, said: "I moved in here about 10 months ago and the house is okay, and the area is good. We have an alley between the two houses and there is also a lamp.
“The lamp doesn’t work, and the alley is full of rubbish. I spoke with some of my neighbours, and they told me it has been like this for years and nobody has come to sort it. I spoke with the council in September, and they told me they usually come every six weeks. I thought ‘okay, let’s wait’.

“It got to January and nothing had happened, so I started to send more emails and they told me they had been [to the alley]. Then February, March and they still haven’t been. They have said ‘sorry, we will come as soon as we can’ and so on.
“Now we’re almost in June and nothing has happened. The lamp is lighting for all our backyards. The alley is full of trash. I really don’t understand why they don’t come.
“The council told me that they were waiting for the alley to be cleaned before they could get to the lamp (to fix the bulb). It is not easy, but you can get into the alley.
“They should be able to change the lamp independently without cleaning the alley.”
A spokesperson for Sefton Council said: “We can confirm we have been contacted by Mr Greggio in regard to a cleansing and street lighting issue at a secured alleyway on Kirkstone Road North.
“Owing to circumstances out of our control, officers were unable to access the site and we are now working with the housing provider to ensure our teams are given full access to remedy this issue.
“Our cleansing, highways and contact centre staff work hard to ensure speedy action when incidences are reported to us, however in this instance our teams were met with foul and abusive correspondence from Mr Greggio and we do not tolerate this behaviour in any form.”
Dario Greggio denies any accusations.
