Moulin Rouge heads to South Shields in a tribute show which aims to recreate all that movie magic

A Moulin Rouge tribute show is out to create all the showy Parisian colour, atmosphere and energy of the 2001 movie on stage in South Shields this spring.

Come What May - billed as an all-singing, all-dancing extravaganza - will be hot footing it to The Customs House on March 28 with a recreation of the show-stopper songs from the film.

And fans of the musical tale about the Englishman who travels to Paris and falls for a courtesan and star performer of the famous Moulin Rouge nightclub will be in for an extra treat because the new show will also feature hits from other popular musicals such as The Greatest Showman.

Featuring a cast of nine West End-credited performers, the show - named after one of Moulin Rouge's showpiece tracks - will also include the likes of Your Song; Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend; Roxanne and Lady Marmalade.

Julie Sweeney, co-founder of the musical's producer Sweeney Entertainments, said: "This is our most exciting new production for 2020.

"The songs of Moulin Rouge are unforgettable - a spectacular combination of classic songs brought to life under the glitz and glamour of the Moulin Rouge."

Come What May - The Ultimate Tribute to Moulin Rouge, will be stopping off at The Customs House in South Shields at 7.30pm on March 28 as part of it spring UK tour.
