Motorists urged to avoid A470 near Pontypridd after 'serious' crash

Police are attending a "serious" crash on the A470 near Pontypridd and are urging motorists to avoid a stretch of the busy route.

In an update released just after 9.30pm on Saturday, South Wales Police said: "Officers are currently at the scene of a serious road traffic collision on the the A470 near the Pontypridd junction.

"Motorists are advised to avoid the area."
