Motorists to expect disruption on busy Larkhall stretch as roadworks get underway

Motorists are to expect disruption on the B7078 Carlisle Road, Larkhall  as major roadworks get underway next weekend.

The resurfacing will be from its junction with Carlisle Court to its junction with Canderside Roads Depot.

To minimise disruption the works will be carried out over two weekends: from 7.30am on Saturday, February 29, until 8pm on Sunday, March 1, from 7.30am on Saturday, March 7, until 8pm on Sunday, March 8.

To carry out these works safely, this section of Carlisle Road will be closed and all traffic will be diverted via Canderside Toll, A71 Ayr Road, B7019 Burnhead Road, Hareleeshill Road, Keir Hardie Road, Machan Road, Strutherhill and Carlisle Road.

Access for businesses and residents will be maintained where possible.

South Lanarkshire Council’s road bosses ask that all road users allow additional time for all journeys which involve the use of Carlisle Road during the times indicated and that they plan their journey accordingly.

A spokesperson said: “We apologise for any inconvenience that may occur during these essential road improvement works.”
