Motorists have lucky escape following three-car collision in North Dublin

A number of people had a lucky escape after a three-car collision on a North Dublin road.

Emergency services rushed to the scene on Malahide Road near the Clarehall Jct following the incident which happened around 4pm.

Luckily nobody was hurt and diversions were put in place as two lanes were temporarily blocked.

There are still some delays being reported in the area as works also took place in Clarehall.

Gardai confirmed they attended the scene while the DFB tweeted a photo of the scene.

A garda spokesperson said: "Gardai and DFB attended a three vehicle Road traffic collision on the Darndale roundabout, Malahide Rd, D17 on the 28th Sept 2019 at approximately 4pm. No persons attended hospital."

The Dublin Fire Brigade said: "We're finishing up at a 3 car RTC on the Malahide road outbound. Some lanes temporarily blocked."
