Motorists have lucky escape as stolen vehicle rammed into light pole in south Dublin

Motorists had a lucky escape this morning after a stolen vehicle was rammed into a light pole in south Dublin this morning.

Thankfully nobody else was injured or their vehicles damage in the frightening incident gardai have said. It happened in Sandyford, south Dublin on the Drummartin Link Road.

Gardai shared a scary image from the scene which shows the front of the car smashed and the pole support crushed with the top of the light lying across the route. The person who was driving the car is currently being processed by gardai.

They said: "Our Roads Policing Unit in East Dublin responded to this road traffic collision this morning. The vehicle involved had been stolen and the driver is currently being processed. Miraculously no other vehicles or any injuries involved in this very dangerous scenario."
