Vehicle owners in Britain will be granted a six-month exemption from MOT testing due to the coronavirus crisis.
The Department for Transport said in a statement:"All cars, vans and motorcycles which usually would require an MoT test will be exempted from needing a test from March 30.
"Vehicles must be kept in a roadworthy condition, and garages will remain open for essential repair work.
Drivers can be prosecuted if driving unsafe vehicles.”

It was announced earlier this month that those who drive a lorry, bus or trailer will be exempt from needing an MOT for three months from March 21 2020.
The Department for Transport had said it is keeping MOT testing for cars, motorcycles and light vans under review, until it made the announcement on Wednesday.
Garages are also allowed to stay open during the lockdown despite retailers being told to shut.
This will allow people to carry on with essential travel during the coronavirus pandemic, the DfT said.
