Motorists have experienced severe delays as work to recover an overturned lorry on an A1 slip road continues.
The incident happened on the northbound slip road at J80 A19 heading to Seaton Burn Roundabout.
Initially, the exit slip road was closed and then the entry road was then shut to help with the recovery of the lorry.

Police were called to the scene at around 2.10pm and the lorry was pulled upright at around 5.30pm.
But, Highways England said the curtain of the opening of the route has been delayed after the lorry spilt its load.
Highways England tweeted: "The HGV is now back on it's wheels but unfortunately the curtain sides were not enough to keep the load on board.
"Recovery remains ongoing and the spilt load will need clearing. Northbound exit and entry slips remain closed at this time."
A Northumbria Police spokesperson said the route would be closed until the oil was cleared and lorry recovered.
They said: “We received a call at 2.10pm that there was a road traffic collision and there were reports of a lorry on its side.
"There were reports of an oil spillage on the road and the route is closed until it is sorted."
here were not believed to be any injuries.
The spokesperson added: “The driver is out of the cab and uninjured."
