Motorists baffled as lorry beaches on grassy verge next to busy Scots motorway after ‘taking wrong turn'

An HGV became ‘beached’ on top of a grassy verge next to one of Scotland’s busiest motorways after allegedly ‘taking a wrong turn’.

Traffic in the area soon began to snarl up after the lorry wedged itself between the M90 and the A92 slip road, near Dunfermline, Fife, on Friday afternoon.

A picture from the scene showed the large vehicle stuck between the busy carriageways while the driver stood nearby.

Fife Jammer Locations were sent the snap with the comment: “Slip road off M90 to A92. “Lorry driver took wrong turn and decided to try cut across grass and beached himself.”

Commenting on the post, one motorist wrote: “Seen him do this about 20 minutes ago.

“What an absolute clown.”

Traffic Scotland warned drivers of possible disruption following the driving bungle.

They tweeted: “Lane 2 blocked on the N/B exit slip at J2a onto A92. Traffic is passing in lane. Triss en enroute.”

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Around 1.45pm on Friday, 15 January, 2021, officers were called to a report of a jackknifed lorry on the M90 at the A92 slip road.

“No-one was injured and officers are in attendance.”
