Motorist suspected of being nearly four times drink-drive limit

A motorist in Nottinghamshire has been arrested on suspicion of being nearly four times the legal drink-drive limit.

The driver blew a reading of 126 microgrammes after being breathalysed at the roadside - the legal limit is 35.

The motorist was pulled over after an off-duty British Transport Police officer witnessed a vehicle driving erratically.

At 2.38am on Tuesday, British Transport Police Nottinghamshire tweeted: "A off duty btp officer has witnessed a vehicle driving erratically, whilst travelling home from shift.

"@nottspolice and ourselves have attended, the driver has been breathalysed at the roadside.

"Providing a sample of 126, the legal limit is 35. One in Police custody."
