Motorist spotted driving in wrong direction on A82

A car was spotted driving the wrong way on the A82 today (Wednesday).

The driver was reportedly attempting to join the A82 from Renton around 1.20pm, and took a wrong turn onto the dual carriageway.

It is understood onlookers contacted the police after spotting the driver travelling the wrong way.

However, they reportedly noticed their mistake quickly and performed a u-turn to change direction.

A spokesman from Police Scotland confirmed they had received a call on the incident

A spokeswoman said: "Police Scotland did receive a call at 1.20pm from a member of the public reporting a vehicle which had joined the A82 travelling in the wrong direction.

"The caller advised that the driver of the car appeared to have realised their mistake and had managed to turn the car around quickly without causing a road crash."
