Motorist spotted 'driving down motorway with both feet on the dashboard'

The motorist was driving down the fast lane, it is claimed (Picture: Twitter)

A motorist has been spotted brazenly driving down the motorway with both feet appearing to be resting on the dashboard of his car.

The driver was allegedly caught travelling down the right hand lane of the M5 by police, who tweeted the driver had taken “cruise control to a whole new level”.

Devon and Cornwall Police and Dorset Police Roads Policing Team posted the picture to their Twitter account after spying the dangerous act.

The officer who posted the picture said: “Cruise control taken to a whole new level. Driver snapped in lane 3 (yes the fast lane) of the M5.

“With apologies to the mighty Pink Floyd: ‘In all my years of policing I have never seen before, Someone more deserving the full penalty of law’!! Sgt B.”

The tweet was met with outrage on social media, with another local officer criticising the driver.

Pc Phil Skedgell, of Devon and Cornwall Police, said: “Utterly stupid and dangerous. On which planet would / could this be considered appropriate?”

Another person wrote: "Future Darwin Award winner right there! Unbelievable!"
