A car was stopped speeding at a "staggering" 95mph on a dual carriageway in the city.
On Saturday, officers pulled over the vehicle which was recorded having clocked the eyeopening speed in Speke.
The incident happened on Speke Boulevard, astonishing police who saw the road breach from an unmarked car.
When the driver was spoken to, they suggested they "didn't realise they were going so fast," it was added.
Officers described the excessive speed as "staggering."
During lockdown, motorists have been repeatedly flouting speed limits, police have said, trying to take advantage of less vehicles on the road.
On Friday, officer stopped a driver on the M57 motorway who was travelling at 92mph, well over the 70mph limit.

The motorist was reported for speeding.
And on the same day, police were treated to the bizarre sight of a driver in a roofless sports car who had stacked up a large chair in his passenger seat, leaving it at risk of flying onto the motorway.
The BMW car was stopped on the M6.
Officers described it as an "insecure load."


It was added: "Harsh deceleration could have proved very dangerous."
On Friday, a driver was stopped on Brooms Cross Road - the Thornton Bypass - travelling at just over 80mph in a 50mph zone.
The driver was reported.
