Motorist shares genius hack for defrosting windscreen as UK faces 'snow bomb'

The "genius" but blindingly obvious hack was posted by a motorist onto Facebook

As almost all of the UK remains on snow and ice alert with major disruption caused by a “snow bomb” hitting parts of Britain, many motorists are facing the tedious task of de-icing their windscreens.

So one motorist revealed his extremely efficient trick for defrosting his car's windscreen by using nothing more than a sandwich bag and some hot water.

The hack has the side benefit of keeping hands nice and warm while defrosting an icy vehicle.

UK resident Daniel Harris shared a video of his trick on Facebook and it has since gone viral, amassing over 2.4 million views.

“Hot water in a food bag and bam you’ve got a de icer and a hand warmer. Works a treat, and it’s fast!” he wrote in the post.

Later, he added that he had used warm tap water to lower the risk of cracking the wind screen.

“It was ice, not condensation,” he added.

"Try it and you won’t be disappointed.”
