A motorist was spotted driving around with a severely damaged car part prompting a stark warning from the gardai.
Eagle-eyed gardai of the Dublin Castle Roads Policing saw the driver driving with a destroyed front left tyre on the busy N7 motorway on Friday night.
An image shared by a garda spokesperson on social media shows the tyre in complete tatters.
The spokesperson said: "Gardaí attached to Dublin Castle Roads Policing on patrol last night detected a vehicle travelling on the N7 with a destroyed front left tyre.
"Motorists are advised to regularly check tyres for correct tread depth (1.6mm), tyre pressure and any cuts, cracks or bulge on the tyre."
