A motorist is to be banned from driving due to failing a roadside breath test - after being caught nearly doubling the speed limit.
Gardai nabbed the driver who was travelling at 114km/h in a 60km/h zone in Finglas,Dublin.
Officers in Blanchardstown then arrested the motorist after they failed a breath test.
Gardai said the driver subsequently provided a test at the station, and that the suspect will be fined and disqualified from driving.
A garda tweet said: "Roads Policing Unit Blanchardstown conducting speed checkpoint in Finglas , detected driver doing 114kms in 60kms zone.
"Driver failed roadside breath test and arrested and provided breath test at station. Driver will receive a fine and a disqualification."
And they weren't the only driver caught breaking the law over the weekend, as a driver caught in the bus lane was found to have cannabis in their system.
They now face a court date.
