Motorist caught driving car with tax nearly 13 years out of date

A motorist was caught driving a car with tax that was nearly 13 years out of date in Co Kildare.

Gardai made the discovery after stopping a car at a checkpoint in the town of Kill.

A quick check showed that the tax on the vehicle was expired for a staggering 4,676 days.

Officers impounded the car, and further proceedings are expected to follow.

The stop was carried out in Co Kildare this morning. (An Garda Siochana)

 

A garda spokesman wrote on Twitter: "Naas Roads Policing Unit stopped a car at a checkpoint in Kill. 

"A check using mobility App revealed that the Tax was out of date 4676 days ( nearly 13 years) car impounded.

"Proceedings to follow. The mobility project is an initiative under A Policing Service for the Future."
