Motorist arrested after being caught with open can of beer in car in Co Longford

A motorist was arrested on suspicion of drink driving after being caught with an open can of beer next to him.

Longford RPU also discovered that the driver didn’t have insurance, NCT, or tax.

A picture of the inside of the car which showed an open can of beer between the seats and more unopened beer in the passenger’s seat was posted on Twitter.

Gardai arrest 164 people on suspicion of driving while intoxicated over St Patrick's weekend

Gardai said in the caption: “Longford RPU: Driver arrested on suspicion of drink driving also no insurance, no NCT, no tax.

“Driver arrested and court appearance to follow.”
