Motorist abandons Volkswagon Golf on Mansfield Road roundabout after crash

A motorist has abandoned their Volkswagon Golf on a roundabout which is usually home to 'Goosey' during the Goose Fair.

Police received a report of a crash at 3.17am on Saturday, August 10, and the black Golf was discovered abandoned on the roundabout in Mansfield Road.

The grass surface on the roundabout is visibly damaged, but officers who arrived at the scene said the driver was uninjured.

A spokeswoman for Nottinghamshire Police said the owner will be collecting the car later on in the day when traffic has died down.

She added: "We've had a number of calls about this incident. We are waiting for the owner to come and pick it up.

"It has turned into a bit of an ornament as it makes a change from the goose. There are no injuries."
