Motorhome users dry laundry on railings and 'litter' Welsh seafront after overnight street parking ban

Motorhome users have been parking up on a Welsh seafront and even hanging their washing out to dry on the railings there - after being banned from using another street overnight.

But some residents are unhappy with the move, complaining about the washing and 'litter' left on Llandudno prom.

One resident, who did not want to be named, spotted several campervans parked up on the seafront on Saturday morning and took a picture of the visitors drying their washing on railings to take advantage of the sea breeze, reports NorthWalesLive.

Earlier this week motorhome users were stopped from parking overnight on Gloddaeth Avenue in Llandudno.

Conwy Council imposed a new traffic order banning campervans, motorhomes and caravans from parking overnight on sections of Gloddaeth Street and Gloddaeth Avenue, which came into force on August 4.

Today several motorhomes were parked on the roadside, near Craig y Don paddling pool on Llandudno's North Shore.

The spot is a short distance from Llandudno RNLI lifeboat station and the town centre.

One local claimed the visitors were the same group parked earlier in the week at Gloddaeth Avenue, until the restrictions came into force.

The resident tweeted: “So they cleared the campervans off Gloddaeth Ave only to find them parked up at paddling pool, railings for washing lines and litter all over."

They added: "Some people (on the Prom) were commenting on the washing and rubbish there.

"The towels and clothing hanging over the railings and bin bags was what I've previously seen on Gloddaeth Street.

"It looks like the problem has just relocated!"
