Motorcyclist who was killed in crash is named by police

A motorcyclist has been named by police after he was killed in a road accident.

He was officially identified on Monday, March 9, as Jason Gascoyne from Draycott.

The tragic news comes after officers were called to a crash involving a car and a motorcycle at around 11.40am on Derby Road, Draycott, on Saturday, March 7, reports Derbyshire Live.

East Midlands Ambulance Service was in attendance and the 49-year-old motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was closed for investigation, with the Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit warning in a tweet it would not reopen for "a number of hours".

Anyone with information should call Derbyshire police on 101 quoting reference 20*130109.
