Motorcyclist taken to hospital with serious injuries after crash in Stockport

A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a crash in Stockport.

Emergency services were called to Lancashire Hill at around 5.35pm on Friday (26 March) to reports of a collision between a car and motorbike.

The motorbike rider suffered serious but non-life-changing injuries and was taken to hospital, police said.

No arrests have been made and the driver of the car stayed at the scene.

The B6167 Lancashire Hill was closed by police in both directions for a number of hours on Friday night.

Pictures from the scene show a red vehicle inside the police cordon which had been badly damaged.

The vehicle's front bumper was partially ripped off, with pieces of debris in the road.

A motorbike could also been near to the car.

One eye witness described seeing the air ambulance arrive near to the scene shortly after 6pm on Friday night.

Police have launched an investigation into the crash and say that enquiries are ongoing.

A spokesperson from GMP said: "Police were called at around 5.35pm on Friday 26 March to a report of a collision involving a car and a motorbike on Lancashire Hill, Stockport.

"The motorbike rider suffered serious but non-life-changing injuries and was taken to hospital.

"The driver remained at the scene.

"No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing."
