A motorcyclist was taken to hospital after an early-morning collision with a car in Walton .
Emergency services were called to the scene, at the junction of Walton Vale and Orrell Lane, shortly after 6am.
On arrival, they found the motorcycle under the wheels of a black Ford Focus.
The rider of the bike suffered cuts and was taken to Aintree hospital - however police said his injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
There were no other injuries in the collision.
Pictures taken at the scene showed police and ambulance vehicles at the scene, near The Windsor pub.
The motorbike was lying on its side in the middle of the road, next to the damaged Ford Focus.
A backlog of traffic formed while the scene was cleared.
The road was reported to have re-opened by 8am.
