A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital after a crash involving a car.
Emergency services were called to the scene on Smithdown Road, in Toxteth , following the crash, which happened earlier this evening.
A spokesman for Merseyside Police said the rider of the bike has been taken to hospital.
His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
Following the crash police cordoned off a small area on Smithdown Road, close to Franks Bar.
A witness told the ECHO around six police cars had attended the scene and a number of ambulances.

The road was re-opened shortly after the incident.
No-one is understood to have been arrested in relation to the incident.
