Motorcyclist taken to hospital after collision with ambulance on Jacob Wells Road

A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital after a crash with an ambulance in Hotwells. Jacob Wells Road was closed for a number of hours following the collision at 6.20am.

Police confirmed that the motorcyclist has been taken to hospital with injuries believed not to be life-threatening. In a statement, Avon and Somerset Police said: "At approximately 6.20am this morning (Tuesday 7 June) we received a report of a collision between a motorcycle and ambulance in Jacobs Wells Road in Bristol.

“Emergency services are at the scene. The motorcyclist has been taken to hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

“Anyone who witnessed the incident or has footage showing what happened is asked to call 101 and quote log number 135 of 7 June.”

A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 6.02am to a road traffic collision in Bristol, involving a motorcycle and one of our double-crewed land ambulances.

"This had a patient on board at the time. We sent an operations officer and two double-crewed land ambulances, which conveyed the original patient and the motorcyclist to Bristol Royal Infirmary”.
