Motorcyclist taken to hospital after collision involving two cars which left road closed in Blyth

A motorcyclist was taken to hospital following a collision in Northumberland.

The 51-year-old man suffered neck and leg injuries in the crash in Blyth on Monday afternoon, the North East Ambulance Service said.

Emergency services were called to the collision on Renwick Road, which involved two cars and a motorcycle, shortly before 2pm.

The motorcyclist was taken to Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, in Cramlington, but his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

A spokesperson for Northumbria Police said: “Shortly before 2pm we received a report of a collision on Renwick Road, Blyth involving two cars and a motorcycle.

“Officers and emergency services attended the scene and the 51-year-old male rider of the motorcycle was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

“The drivers of both cars were shaken but uninjured and the road was able to fully reopen a short time after.”
